Agriculture for Prosperity

At PARDI-UGANDA, we believe that agriculture is the backbone of prosperity for rural communities. We empower rural households with modern agricultural techniques, reducing poverty and unemployment in rural Uganda. Our agriculture initiatives are designed to transform farming practices and increase agricultural productivity.

  • Modern Farming Techniques: We provide training to rural households in modern commercial agriculture, helping them adopt efficient farming methods.
  • Income Generation: By increasing agricultural productivity, we contribute to higher household incomes, improving the standard of living.
  • Reducing Unemployment: Our programs create employment opportunities within the agricultural sector, reducing unemployment and boosting economic stability in rural Uganda.

Youth Empowerment

Empowering the youth is essential for sustainable development. At PARDI-UGANDA, we equip rural youth with lifelong skills, education, and opportunities, reducing poverty and promoting innovation. Our youth empowerment initiatives focus on nurturing the next generation of leaders.

  • Skills Development: We provide vocational training and academic support to empower youth with practical skills and knowledge.
  • Sexual and Reproductive Health: Our programs include education on sexual and reproductive health, ensuring informed choices and healthier lives.
  • Jobs Creation and Innovation: We encourage innovation among youth, fostering an entrepreneurial spirit and job creation in rural communities.
  • International Opportunities: We’ve facilitated over 500 youths to travel and work in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), including 15% who are sexual minorities, providing safety, reducing youth unemployment, and enhancing their well-being.

Research for Impact

Research is at the heart of what we do at PARDI-UGANDA. It is essential to all our projects, ensuring effective support to the communities we serve. Our research initiatives are dedicated to gathering data, building evidence-based projects, and understanding the impact of our work in the short, medium, and long term.

Child Care and Protection

Our commitment to child care and protection aligns with global goals and the well-being of future generations. We work diligently to create safe environments for children and caregivers, promoting their rights and responsibilities. Our child care and protection initiatives focus on strengthening national, community, and family structures.

  • Child Protection Systems: We work to strengthen child protection systems, ensuring the safety of children in the communities we serve.
  • Positive and Better Parenting: We provide support and guidance to caregivers to promote positive parenting practices.
  • Social Norms Change: Our programs aim to change harmful social norms and behaviors that put children at risk.
  • No Means No: We educate children and caregivers about their rights, including the right to say ‘no’ to violence or abuse.
  • Case Management: We offer comprehensive case management services to children in need, ensuring they receive the care and support they deserve.
  • Coordination and Partnerships: Collaboration, networking, and partnerships are vital to our efforts in preventing and responding to all forms of violence against children.

GBV Prevention and Mitigation

Our commitment to gender-based violence (GBV) prevention and mitigation is unwavering. We focus on reducing the risk of GBV and ensuring that all survivors have timely and adequate access to quality services that meet their needs. Our GBV prevention and mitigation initiatives align with global goals and the empowerment of women and girls.

  • Social Norm Change: We work to challenge and change social norms that perpetuate gender-based violence.
  • No Means No: Education is key, and we ensure that individuals understand the importance of consent and respect.
  • Psychological First Aid: Survivors receive psychological support and aid to cope with the trauma of GBV.
  • Family Mediation and Counseling: We offer counseling and mediation services to help survivors and their families heal.
  • Case Management: Comprehensive case management ensures that GBV survivors receive the necessary support.
  • Coordination and Partnerships: We collaborate with organizations and agencies to provide a holistic response to GBV.
